By André Hoffmann, President, MAVA Foundation
As the MAVA Foundation closes its doors after decades of impactful work in conservation, it is important to recognize the contributions of the dedicated individuals who served on its board of directors. The foundation owes much of its success to the guidance, leadership, and commitment of its former and current board members, and for that, I am truly grateful.
The former board members of the MAVA Foundation, Hans Hüssy, Pierre Goeldlin de Tiefenau, Mario Broggi, Raymond Junod and Claude Martin brought a wealth of experience and expertise to the organization. They played a vital role in shaping the foundation’s strategic direction and ensuring that its activities were aligned with its mission and values. They also served as ambassadors for the foundation, advocating for its work and building relationships with key stakeholders.
In addition to the former board members, the current non-family board members of the MAVA Foundation, Mike Moser, Hubert Jochaud du Plessix, Jean-Philippe Rochat and Jonathan Knowles have continued to build on the foundation’s legacy of excellence. They have brought new perspectives and insights to the table, as well as a deep commitment to advancing the foundation’s goals. They have worked tirelessly to ensure that the foundation’s resources are being used effectively and efficiently to achieve maximum impact.
The collective efforts of the former and current board members of the MAVA Foundation have made a tremendous difference in the world. Thanks to their leadership and guidance, the foundation has been able to support countless organizations and initiatives that are working to protect the planet and promote sustainable development. Their vision, dedication, and hard work have left an indelible mark on the world, and their legacy will continue to inspire future generations of conservationists and sustainable development practitioners. I feel really proud of all of you.
As we bid farewell to the MAVA Foundation, we extend our deepest gratitude to all of its former and current board members. We thank them for their service, their passion, and their unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. Their contributions will be remembered and celebrated for years to come, and their impact will continue to be felt for generations.
