Circular Economy Action Plan unveiled by the EU

On 11 March 2020, the EU released its new Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP). This is the most ambitious and comprehensive proposal ever put forward to reduce the environmental and climate impact of our products and economic activities.

The action plan presents new initiatives along the entire life cycle of products in order to modernise and transform our economy while protecting the environment. It is driven by the ambition to make sustainable products that last and to enable citizens to take full part in the circular economy and benefit from the positive change that it brings about.

Accelerating a circular economy practice is one of MAVA’s Sustainable Economy Programme objectives. To encourage circular economy policies within EU and national legislation, we have been working for the past years with the European Environmental Bureau (EEB), who have been key in lobbying for this new EU action plan.
